200 Little Reasons to NOT Wrap Your Modem in Bright Holiday Cheer
It’s no secret that geeks like our lights and shiny things. So naturally, we might want to throw up some Christmas lights around the things we’re truly thankful for; things like our gaming rig, 42″ LCD TV, and Think Geek USB Snowbot (sure, it already has lights, so what?). One thing you may not want to decorate is your ADSL modem. Reportedly, the little sparkling lights of joy cause interference with the especially sensitive (he gets coal every year) ADSL modem, so much so that an unsuspecting geek may lose their connection entirely.
So, if you’ve put up those lights recently, even at a distance from the modem, and your teammates in Team Fortress 2 are screaming LLAAAAAAGGGGGG, you might want to check that your Christmas lights aren’t at fault.
