T-Mobile Data Service Outage [February 14, 2009]
A bit of breaking news here; Reports are coming in from Chicago, Oregon, California, and Arizona that T-Mobile customers are not able to access any data networks. Cell phone calls are still able to be placed, and with the HTC T-Mobile G1 at least, WiFi is still usable (but that’s something the phone supports, not a network service). Reports starting coming in around 10pm PST, and as of this post, service is still unavailable. It is unclear if all phones are affected, or just the G1, though, I suspect it’s the data network as a whole.
There’s no official word from T-Mobile.
UPDATE: I checked my phone at 6:50am Pacific Time, and it was able to access the EDGE network (which is typical, no 3G where I am).
UPDATE: Outages are still being reported across the United States. Some one the T-Mobile forums are stating service reps are telling them the outages are still occurring only west of the Mississippi; “They’re workin’ on it.”

Data service outage?
Data outage? (an older thread, revisited)

I am in Eastern Minnesota and for the past hour-could have been more- I only have GSM,
Central Ohio here. No internet or e-mail on my Blackberry since this morning unless I connect to wireless. My husband has a Dash, and is having the same issues.
Central Iowa here. No BlackBerry data services via T-Mobile since 9pm Central on 2/14. Still nothing as of 5pm Central on 2/15. T-Mobile unwilling to give ETR, but acknowledges that there is an issue which engineers are working on. Seems to be affecting mostly markets west of Mississippi River, but could be a few markets east, as well (see prior reports from Ohio and Chicago)
Washington DC area here. Haven’t had 3g for about 4 days now. EDGE works, but that worked even before Tmobile announced 3G for the area.
i live in pa and cannot even make a phone call
3G is terrible! im getting me some ADSL
in my country 3g is kinda new.. its ok though..
