How to Wipe Data off Palm Tungsten E2 [Erase Memory]

Palm Tungsten E2 Getting ready to sell that old PDA of yours for some quick cash? You might want to wipe your old media off that thing lest your Christmas list and questionable photos wind up in a stranger’s hands.

To completely erase the data on a PalmOne Tungsten E2 PDA: Hold the power button, then press the reset button (found, recesessed, on the back), and continue to hold the power button until the a prompt appears asking you to confirm the erase. Press up on the directional pad, and now you’ve got a fresh start with your Palm!

  • Perfect. Worked the first time!

  • Awesome!

It took me about 10 tries to get it right. I think it had something to do with letting go of the power button too soon; that’s why I recommend holding it down until the prompt appears.

  • hold power, press and release reset.

  • palm tungsten bloqué sur powered + barre en haut qui clignote. j’ai fait les 3 types de reset sans solution

  • It was Justin Marty’s comment that helped me complete this. I was holding both the power button and the reset buttons, and didn’t realize that it was simply a matter of holding the power button, then press and release the reset button while holding the Power button a while longer. It didn’t automatically pop up with the prompt for me to delete, though, I held it for probably 20 seconds, then figured I’d done something wrong so I let go of the power button at which point I got the prompt. Not sure how long it’s necessary to hold it, though.

  • Yeah, exactly. I’m not sure if there’s a time limit, but after trying to reset it a couple times, I found that holding the button until the prompt appeared was the only way to know you’ve held it long enough. Otherwise, it won’t complete the reset.

  • Great, worked perfectly!

  • perfect thanks

  • I had no trouble getting the prompt but when that screen came up there were no buttons for me to press. Any ideas? Is there some other way to erase all data? If I remove the back will that do it? Thanks for any help.

  • As far as I know, this method is the only way to clear the device of data without physically destroying the device.

  • Thanks, very helpful

  • Thanks for the information. Worked second try but to be honest it was probably my fault first attempt!

  • Thank you. This worked perfectly!

  • Perfect! Thanks!
